The Day of Steaks


“Normally, there wasn’t much money for anything but pasta and more pasta. But, I remember the day my dad got a check back from his 1975 tax return. He said, Let’s go and pick out a steak!” All eleven of us walked a block and a half to the IGA and made a beeline for the meat counter in the back. We each chose a steak, and then Dad had us march back to our house in a line, holding our steaks above our heads!”

A passion for great food

In 2009, with that same boyish passion, Joe turned his memories into a reality, opening Joe’s Steakhouse with his friend and business partner, H.B. Sager.
